Okay, probably a fairly simple problem to solve but for the life of me i cant seem to get around it. I recently went back from Co-Ax digital to 6 channel analog using my Soundblaster live! 24. Reason for that was my digital reciever was getting "pauses" where for some reason it picked up a change in the input during an episode or song and reset its frequency etc.... this makes like a 2sec pause that drove me crazy. Using 6 channels analog i dont have this issue. Now, what i want is for normal MP3's and stereo videos etc to play through all 6 speakers (5.1 surround). In windows in the tests, all 6 channels are seperate but when i play anything in media portal that only has stereo, it only plays on the front 3 speakers (Left, centre and right) no sub or back speakers which makes the audio a bit tinny. How can i set it so it uses all the speakers and just pushes the stereo through but when there are 6 channels in the media it uses proper surround sound? I have tried multiple codecs and dont seem to be having any joy.... please help!!!
