That is one problem developers here face, since its not installed on a system they specifically designed (unlike MCE2005), they cant guarantee its gonna work perfectly. Anything a user does on his/her machine could damage codec functionality, the .net install or anything (eg using a small nLite Winxp install breaks MP as it removes required applications). Much less than half of the problems we see on the forums here are actual bugs, the rest are problems on the user's system. Since in this case a lot of your problems are unique to you, its the most common assumption that the problem is on your end (hence why we try and duplicate bugs in the test group). I have both my dedicated MP box which is used everyday and my actual work/games box and MP functions on both of them flawlessly. Most people here buy dedicated boxes simply because they want software that goes beyond MCE2005. Believe it or not, while stable it is VERY limited and has almost no configurability. MP pretty much requires identical hardware to the MCE2005 software so there is no problem going from here to there if users wish later on. MP does give people a little more freedom though with their config's unlike MCE2005. Providing your PC meets the requirements, there are ways for the developers to inspect your PC (VNC for example) but thats providing they are still in good cheer (this thread is more of a rant now rather than any support). Lastly, Ill just repeat what others have said, if your having trouble please ask for it, theres little point building up anger over 6 months and then having a spew.
