To navigate perfectly in the menus of MP it is necessary to be able to perform the following actions

  • go up
  • go down
  • go left
  • go right
  • perform action (enter)
  • go to previous window (escape)
  • go to parent folder (U)
  • show info (F3)
  • show context menu (F9)

Now look a classic remote device. You don't have enough buttons to do all those thinks. It's should be possible (via an option) to combine the enter, F3 and F9 keys in one fully F9 context menu with all options.

Yes but MCE remote is an IR remote but I need a RF remote. My HTPC is not visible from where I use my remote.

Another think... how can i use MP with a touch screen for example ?

Just try to stop thinking mouse, keyboard, double click because tomorrow we will use touch screen, tablet PC, gloves, wiimote and a lot of other new input devices. I already try to avoid using my mouse because of health problems.

I really think the navigation must be reviewed with all those thinks in mind.
