Have just started using MP1.
Main usage thing for me is recording and future recordings.
Would like to see Series Link and the functionality of TVWishList should be included as standard, but with a simple process.
For example, if you press record from the guide/on live tv, then you are given a small number of simple options such as Record Once, Record All, Record All (Edit).
The latter 2 would record the program, then create a TVWish using the default criteria (which is configurable such as channel group, this channel or any channel), with the latter giving the functionality to edit the TVWish before saving.
Creating a TVWish from scratch could be done in Scheduled TV.
more efficient use of the RECORD button on a remote
example:
- currently MP1, press record once on a future show
- MP opens a menu with a bunch of options and showing future shows.
- then i have to select the show again and press OK.
That is far too many steps if I just want to quickly record one show.
IMHO, Windows Media center has a good implementation of the RECORD button:
- one press schedules the show to record once... red record icon is displayed on time slot. no further steps
- second press on the same show will record series with default settings (weekly, keep forever, etc....)
I would envision a good compromise between the two would work well
- one press schedules a single recording of that time slow
- second press would bring up the advanced record menu
Currently I'm favouring WMC for TV recording.
Is there any documentation on what MP2 will look and feel like re this, i.e. recording series, future programs.
Thanks.
Hi,
i have a small wish for the TV-Client of MP2, exactly for playing recorded tv-programs: I would like to have an automatic skip for the prerecording time. So that MP2 starts to play the file for example at 7m00s and not at 0m00s.
Thanks,
