Hi Guys and gals.
Great forum and a superb bit of software - I cant believe how much better it is than Microsofts useless MCE. I am currently tinkering with the programme and have run into a couple of issues I hope you can help me with.

1. I have installed the My emulators plugin which is an excellent little extension. When using Mame, the programme opens the front end by opening various roms. The problem is that some roms run at different resolutions than others. Some run fine but others run at a resolution that my plasma screen television cannot handle. There is an option in Mame itself to start the games in a window or to change the resolution settings but My Emulators seems to ignore this and use the default settings. It means that quite a lot of roms cant be launched from inside Media Portal? Any ideas?

2. I have installed the My Programme extension. However, it is greyed out in the options. Double clicking it turns it blue allowing it to be configured but when the programme is closed and reopened it is back out to grey again. I have gotten around this by cheating and adding programme extensions to the My Emulator plugin but this requires a file to open every programme meaning some exe files (my chess game for example) cant be run because there is no file associated with it. Obviously installing this properly would help.

3. I was wondering if there is any way of changing the default icon settings when you are viewing movies etc etc? It seems to be that they are in list format as default. They can be changed to icons with a click but I am looking to get them as icons when I open the programme. Also, the updater from IMDB has made some mistakes in a few of my video files. For example, Oceans 11 is the older version. Is there any way I can manually update the ones which are wrong? I have also noticed that My Movies is inside the plugins sub folder while the My Burner is on the front page?? Is this correct and can it be edited so that Movies appears on the front page?

4. The My TV function does not work at all. When it is pressed the screen goes funny and the computer hangs. It is an old system running 256mb, Pentium 4 and a wintv pvr 150 capture card. Is this an issue and is there a minimum system requirment for this function? I was planning to rectify this by launching the Hauppage TV software (which works okay) for video recording but I cant get my Programmes running. I could cheat and run it through my Emulators but this obviously isnt ideal.

5. I have come across this remote on ebay. It seems to be MCE compatible but includeds a mouse function. Would this be compatible with the programme and something I should buy?

Ok guys - after hours playing around I have managed to resolve the icon issue, sort My videos back onto the front page and rectify the imdb data.

Any help with the greyed out my programmes would be great. As would some advice on the remote I posted. Thanx in advance.

Hi, thanx for replying. Looks like Im effed with this programme on the computer I want to use it on. I set the whole thing up on my main rig and it was fine. Transferred the settings over to the old compaq small form factor I bought to use as a media centre and nothing works. My tv, my music and my videos hang the cpu and send my plasma screen half black and blue. This also happens when I change the home page to the basic setting but strangely looks fine on the normal screen. I can use my emulators and have set some videos and music up through it but thats about it. It is an old nvidia vanta graphics card which I suspect is the problem.

I know its the problem, now if you could get a fx5200 or higher you may have a chance.
