Hi.
Other PVR tools are offering possibilities to schedule recordings based on keywords. E.g. record all programs that have "Formel 1" in name or record all program that have "dinosaur" in description or similar.
Would be great if MP 2.x can offer this too. It's a very appreciated feature once it is available, I'm sure.

I have done a search for programs and been able to add them for scheduled recordings.
Did this break in 2.1 or is there something else?

You now only can schedule programs with exact names from the EPG or Search. But you can not add Programs that have only partially identical names. Example. I schedule every Formula 1 race. Since some time the program is not called "Formula 1" any more as it was earlier but now it is named "Formula 1: USA Grand Prix - Austin, Texas" This is not found by my recurring schedule for "Formula 1" so I need to schedule every Grand Prix separate.
Other example lots of series are having the episodes title as part of the program name. E.g. "Columbo - Prescription: Murder". This also is not scheduled by a recurring schedule for "Columbo"...
Very unkomfortable indeed but never was working in MP (no matter if 1 or 2) as proposed here. We need some sort of wildcards in the scheduling logic something like "*Formula 1*" or similar.
And a schedule based on description (or genres) keywords are completely impossible up to now.

TVWishlist is the plugin for that, but actually it is only working on MP1. The MP2 version have to be updated.

TVWishlist never worked for MP 2 as long as I use MP2 (some years now) so I doubt it ever will. And I'm not feeling good by giving such functionality into a 3rd party plugin that has to be maintained constantly by only one dev...
So for me relaying on external plugins for core functions (tv recordings is a core function imho) is not the way MP2 should go, as this will lead to the same issues MP 1 has to deal with... We should learn from mistakes done in the past and not making the same mistakes over and over again...

IIRC there is such feature in TVE3.5 (added by gibman in first reworks). So we have to wait until it is there, because TVE3 is under code freeze.
