Adding Channels (1 Viewer)

I'm a nebie who has just installed Media Portal. The install process adding several local channels but none of my cable channels. How do I add these? Is there a way for the system to scan and auto add these cable channels?

Is there a user manual that provides specific instructions on the functionality of all the capabilities? I couldn't find it.
