Synopsis::

MediaPortal is not able to detect any TV or Radio channels. This isn't a problem with signal strength, as the included Ulead software receives channels fine.

Also, I cannot get it to recognise the TV remote. The IR receiver plugs directly into a port on the the TV card.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated as the included software is very slow to load.

    Paul,

Install Sevice Pack 2 & install RC3 and retry.
If that does not work then please post your MediaPortal.log file after tuning in Configuration.

The latest service pack for Windows 2003 is SP1 which includes most of the functionality of XP SP2 I believe.

MediaPortal RC3 crashes on the Setup Wizard page right after scanning for channels.

All the log files are at http://www.pf.ne1.net/mediaportal/

    Many thanks,

    Paul.

Sorry Paul, misread it, it was late last night when I replied.

Windows 2003 Server is not supported.
Some of the core files MediaPortal uses from XP are not in the Server edition.
Such as the Stream Buffer Engine which is aparent in the log.
Soon we'll be moving away from SBE however at this time you'll need Windows XP SP2.

Ah ok. It still does the other stuff like Videos etc. Is it possible to install the engine?

I have the original XP cd that came with the machine, and Virtual PC.

I installed 2003 because it is faster, but there's a lot missing (that's probably why it's faster!) :?

    Thanks anyway,

    Paul.
