Advice for cheap remote that works out of the box. (1 Viewer)

Hi,

I am looking for a cheap remote control for a Mediaportal Client that just works without any configuration (I did try an Emprex remote with eventghost but had lost of trouble).

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I recently bought an HP MCE remote like the one below with receiver, I think it was around £12 from ebay, it works 99% out of the box. You can see many of those on ebay. There are no coloured "teletext" buttons like on my previous MCE remote unfortunately, as they had useful functions, and there aren't enough "spare" buttons to remap those functions to. I mapped the subtitle function to the "Print" button, and fullscreen toggle (action_show_gui) to the aspect ratio button. The eject button and the visualisations button don't seem to be usable though (actually what I came to the forum to ask about today).

^ agree with above suggestion, I have one too although it looks different it is an HP MCE clone remote. Buy on ebay with free shipping from HK. approx $15 USD incl P&P.
