Advice on installing mediaportal (1 Viewer)

Hi, im new to mediaportal and wanted to know if there's any good advice about what version to install and how to do it the easiest way..

I tried the feature release, and i could'nt even change the channels with my MCE remote after that ...

You need to give a bit more information on your specific problem. There are a lot of things you can do with MediaPortal and it depends on what your requirement are. Start by posting your system configuration, without it nobody will be able to answer your question. Also have you read the Wiki documentation on how to set up MP, because changing channels again depends on if you are using an external box like a Satellite-Decoder or standard analogue-TV. What type of remote are you using, Microsoft MCE remote? Do you use IR-blasters?
