This will be my first post to the forum, but I have read already a lot of topics out of curiousity...
I have build a house and implemented domotics... For this part I'm currently developing an own application to have control using pc, www, windows mobile, sms,...
However in my search I came across mediaportal and the ability to make your own extensions to it (which would be my home control system). Next to that I would have the ability to wacth tv, movies, listen to music,...
Before I can make my decission I want to know if the setup I want to have is possible with media portal. Therefore I give you a short description of what my needs are:
* I want to be able to watch movies and live TV in my office (on computer), in my living room (TV), in my kitchen (TV), in my bedroom (TV) and in time also in the kid's rooms (on computer). I should be able to access live TV there and all other movie material available on my pc/server.
* On all of these locations I need to be able to use the home control extension I would develop, especially those that are using a TV because the PC application or website will not work there.
* For music I have made preparation to have in-wall speakers in several rooms: surround setup (5+1) in tv-room, in office, in kitchen, in living room and in the bathroom. All the wires of these speakers all go to a central place in my office where I wan't to have the hardware...
What are your ideas on this setup???
Would it be possible to do what I want and what do I need from hardware for that?
