I originally posted this to another section where it seems to have died, hoping it might get more attention here.

Only scan read your previous post but if you want to load gene data for your albums then this is not related to the album info table. All album info is stored in the tracks table

I also have all genre loaded to the strGenre field in the tracks table. What I am saying is that when I choose an artist, then right click one of that artist's albums and then right click and choose 'Show Album/Artist Info' the genre field is blank, even though the data is there, in the tracks table. All the other fields are populated, Year, style, tone etc. No matter what, or where, I enter the genre it does not show up.​

OK had a look now and the albuminfo table is the one that populates that screen.

The genre field is not populated by the scraper so is really of no use anyway.

This area of MP is a bit out of date and needs reworking http://mantis.team-mediaportal.com/view.php?id=3699 is already outstanding to do this

Thanks, good to know there's already some work going on. Just one last point, I understand the scraper is not populating the field, but there's also the issue of when you populate it manually it still doesn't show up.​

I have not checked the code but I am fairly certain that if the scraper is not populating it then the business object we use to access the data will be not be even attempting to load it. This means that it will never be shown even if a value is populated in the database. Styles and Tones are pretty allmusic.com specific. Can you not use one of those for mean time? (and just change the skin expression so you can see it) ??

Yeah, I can probably use styles or tones for now, I'll try that.

By the way, is there a roadmap or some kind of list of upcoming music related changes?
