Despite double-checking the MP3 files involved as well as several attempts at rescanning (recreating) the music DB from scratch, MP insists that all of my audiobooks have an Album Artist (BAND) tag of "Various Artists", when in fact, most (if not all) have more informative entries in this tag. Attached are screenshots of some examples in SQL Lite and in MP3tag, as well as the Configuration log from the last scan (which unfortunately appears to be missing the part where the audiobooks were scanned). The music DB is around 15 MB. The music MP3s have the appropriate entries, as far as I can tell.
P.S. It seems I didn't understand the option "treat tracks in an individual folder as an album" well enough.
There were individual MP3 files in my top "Audiobooks" directory. MP appears to have assigned "Various Artists to these and all tracks in all subdirectories becuase they didn't share the same "Album Artist". Now that I have moved these assorted tracks into an "Unclassified" subdirectory, the DB looks the way I expected it to.
