Hi MP2 Forum..

Im trying to set up MP2 running on my computer. And have run into the following problems.

Im trying top convert from a WD TV Live Hub, as my girlfriend want the opportunity to being able to record from DVB-C.

So i installed MP2, and thought that when i installed it, there wsould be no problems with codecs and file support.. That was a problem many years ago, and i thought the mediacenter developers had gone better at this.. I think i guessed wrong.

Im missing support for ISO/IMG files, they dont even show up in the list when i entered the file path in the config.
I have installed Virtual Clone Drive, but without luck.

Also I dont think the MP2 is updating the media library whewn i put in new files? where do i change that behaviour?

Thats the first troubles ive bumped into for start.. There will be more i guess.[DOUBLEPOST=1429272521][/DOUBLEPOST]Oh, and how do i fit the menus for my need? i dont want something lige 'News' and 'Pictures' in the main menu, as i will never use them.

    Hi Kim,
first of all, thanks for testing MP2!
I fear we will need some more information to be able to help you with your problems:
Im missing support for ISO/IMG files
ISO files are supported - I use them myself. If it doesn't work for you, you've either found a bug or are doing something wrong :D
Could you explain a bit more detailed what exactly you did? I assume that you added a MediaSource. Was it a Server or Client MediaSource? If it was a Server-MediaSource was it a Local or a Network MediaSource? Was it Music, Video, Series, and / or Movies?
Additionally I need your log files that were written when you added the MediaSource (and you need to wait a bit before catching it until the import of that MediaSource is finished).
Also I dont think the MP2 is updating the media library whewn i put in new files? where do i change that behaviour?
Automatic and immediate import of new files is not yet implemented (but planned). What currently happens is that every night at 2am (configurable via settings) a reimport is triggered. So you should see your changes the next day...
Here as well logs are necessary if it doesn't work for you...

Hi MJGraf, thanx for the answers, ill be more specific in the future..

I now realised that i can force the scan for new files, ill do that untill you get the immediate update working.

What about the menu thing? how do i remove the menu items?

    Regards:
    Kim

Most of MP2's features are plugins.

I think you can disable News by deleting C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Client\Plugins\News

Pictures might be more complex and probably means editing the skin files.

Is there a way where i can see the plugins which is enabled in MP2? So i can disable them.

I could remove the News plugin, thanx for that, but i also have the weather plugin, which i would like to remove, it is not usefull information for me.. All i want is a media player, which can play whatever type of media i put into it.. nothing else..

    Hi.
What about the menu thing? how do i remove the menu items?
A menu editor did not exist now, but is planed. So to have the menu as you personally want it, is not that easy at the moment. At least for the BlueVision skin there is an option to edit an xml file with this you can adjust the menu structure. But that is nothing for newbies.

MP2 is a young project and we're still working to get all basics up and running as we like it. So some of the "comfort"" functions are not as mature as we want it.
Most of the not needed plugins (like weather, news, party musicbox,...) can safely be removed and then disappear from the menu. But pictures is a core component that is not that easy to remove. Without digging deeper into MP2 program structure you can not remove it easily atm...

    Lehmden.

Im not able to remove the Weather plugin, by deleting it from the plugin folder.. Then MP2 refuse to start?[DOUBLEPOST=1429278832][/DOUBLEPOST]I can live with the Picture folder.. But the news, weather, party playlist and so on is useless for me.

All i need is something like going down to the local blockbuster, and only see the mediafiles stores in my mediacenter..

Which skin are you using? Reflexion and Titanium depend on the weather plugin. Try putting it back, changing to the default skin then removing it again?
