    Hi,

I have a problem with one of my TV Cards. If I set any of the tuners on that card (BlackGold BGT3600), set as priority, MP takes ages to tune, and eventually skips them and tunes to the next available tuner that isn't on the BGT3600. It isn't showing as broken within the Windows Device Manager, but clearly isn't working.

Attached are some TV server logs which show me tuning with the 4 tuners from the BGT3600 set as priority. I would be grateful if someone could let me know if there might be a problem with MP, or whether it is a potential physical failure of the BlackGold BGT3600 card.

    Thanks

    Hello

The tuners are reporting that they lock onto signal; they just don't seem to deliver a stream. With such symptoms I'd be incredibly surprised if the card had physically failed. Rather, I think it's far more likely that the card's driver is confused. If you haven't done so already, try simply rebooting the PC (Windows restart, not Windows shutdown). If you've already tried that and/or it doesn't/didn't help, please check your Windows system event log for recent Windows updates etc. You may find that the card's driver has been updated/replaced with a generic version that isn't compatible with the card.

    Thanks @mm1352000

The reboot didn't fix things. The other day, the card made a recording which was half green and half picture, so it could well be a driver issue.

I will check as you suggested and report back.

Thanks for your help so far.

...then it may well be causing your problem. Please refer to this thread:
[solved] - tv tuner Stopped getting signal

Well, as usual @mm1352000, you don't fail to disappoint with your amazing advice.

I uninstalled AVAST and it immediately worked. Also, the problem I have long suffered with, where recording more than 2 HD channels lead to picture break-up, seems to also gone away. Maybe AVAST was the problem all along!

Thanks again for such brilliant support.
