Summary: Allow user to select which scheduled recording to stop in order to view a channel selected from the guide.

Area: ?

Description:
When two shows are recording, and you choose a channel to watch from the guide, mediaportal simply says "bad luck - cant do this". It would be so much nicer if it warned you that one recording would need to be stopped to watch that show, and give you the chance to select the one you wish to stop. Presently, the only way to do that is to back out of the guide, go to TV, Active Recordings, stop one, then go back to the guide and select the channel you want. Mediaportal has fully replaced Windows Media Center for me, is one feature my wife and I really miss from MCE. Are there any plans to develop these features? If not, I would recommend it - then there would be nothing that MCE can do that mediaportal cannot.

There could be two possible workarounds. :)
1) Perhaps there is a shortcut to jump directly to the Active Recordings which you could map to your remote.
2) Buy 1 or 2 USB tv cards and plug them in so that you don't have the problem with to many recordings anymore. ;)

But you are right. Such a feature like you are describing would be cool even though I've never this problem because of 4 tv cards. :)

True, that would help, and buying another dual tuner card may well be the workaround I employ - still user friendliness is about not telling the user "NO - you cant!" it should be "I CAN do that if you'll let me do THIS."

You get used to the little luxuries - while I'm happy to put up with it, my wife is pretty dirty about it. and the wife approval factor for this sort of thing needs to be maintained at a high level ;)
