    lucky you :)

Have you checked out wich graphic card is the best, nvidia or ati?
Pherhaps not since you wan't it cheep.

I read for some month's ago on ,,some forum, can't remeber where, that ati was a bit better than nvidia and their pure video codec.

This was just opinions, but I got the impretions that ati was a bit better.

The NEC drive is pretty noisy, just so you know.

Otherwise it looks like a pretty good setup, especially with the 6150 GPU which allows hw accelerated HD deinterlacing. My HTPC with 512MB ram can struggle a bit at times, i would add another 512MB just so i wouldnt have to worry about it :)

Pretty much my setup, but I'm on a 939 board.

    I have:

    ASUS A8N-VM CSM
    3000+ Venice Core
Zalman CNPS7700-CU (not sure it fits until the case arrives)
Fujitsu 2.5" 40Gb HDD (OS drive only) - Going to suspend it.
    NEC 4550 (slowed down)
    512Mb Geil Value PC3200 (2x256mb)
Antec NSK2400 (Yet to arrive!!!) - Plan is to remove one fan & replace the remaining fan with a scythe 120mm.
    Terratec Cinergy 2400i
    HDA Digital X-Plosion Sound card

All my stuff is then stored on a Netgear SC101 with 2xSeagate 500Gb drives.

Nice setup your looking at - Go for it!

    Thanks for the replyes!

I belive the 6150 w/PureVideo is a good choice... no ATi mobo's have same good specs.

I'll consider buing 2x512 MB RAM - or perhaps wait and try...

... I'll sure find another DVD-RW (in silver) - but I belive that there are apps. to slow down opticals... Nero?

    Okay said:

You can use Nero or AnyDVD for example to slow down the drive, but it helps if the drive itself is silent. I cant remember exactly which DVD+RW drives are supposed to be really silent because i use a DVD-ROM drive in my HTPC(since burning DVDs through the MP interface is cumbersome i usually transfer files to my main PC for 'processing').

My Plextor DVD-ROM is pretty silent, and i believe the Plextor DVD+RW drives have some extra options for silent running. Apart from that i seem to remember the BenQ burners being mentioned, but im not sure.

You should check out http://www.cdrinfo.com/ for reviews, i believe they take noise into account. You could also visit the silentpcreview storage forum:
