Right, back to the first error:

---------------------------
Unable to scan
---------------------------
Please install a supported audio/video encoder for your software analog card
---------------------------
OK
---------------------------
I've just reinstalled AVICO - restarting the service hasn't helped, so I'll try a reboot...

Edit: no cheese. New logs attached.

Wow, I have to apologise! It seems like 1.1.2 doesn't even support the ATI encoder.:sorry:

There have been *massive* improvements in support for tuners that require software encoders in 1.2.0a. I'd strongly recommend that you upgrade to 1.2.0 (alpha, beta, final... anything) when you feel comfortable. Until then though (and in the interests of ensuring your card works and making your system functional), here is a patch that adds support for the ATI encoder to 1.1.2. Instructions for use:

    1. Stop TV Server.
    2. Take a backup of the TVLibrary.dll in your TV Server install folder.
    3. Download and extract the TVLibrary.dll attached to this post into your TV Server install folder.
    4. Start TV Server.

Here's to hoping we get some progress now!

    Hey, not to worry.

OK, new DLL in place, and we're back to this:

    ---------------------------
    Unable to scan
    ---------------------------
The graph building. Mostly your card is not supported by TvServer. Please create a report in our forum
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

If it's getting too hard, don't worry about it. I only created this thread because the software told me to (I kind of hoped that it would help you to add support for another card). I'm just trialling media software in order to demonstrate the idea to some people who are interested.

If I get the go-agead to built it, it won't be based on this tuner card - I'll be picking up some PCIe dual hybrids instead.

    Nevertheless, new logs attached.

Right, clearly there is something else going on here. Try the attached and see how you go (same instructions as before except don't bother with the backup). Please post logs whether it works or not...

Thank you again for reporting the issue. :)
It is not getting too hard for me, but I am a little puzzled at the error. The card should already be supported but the error you're experiencing is unusual. If you decide you don't want to spend any more time on this then I'd understand. By the way, I'd recommend a tuner with hardware encoders if you or the people you're showing the system to intend to use the system for analog TV or inputs (composite, s-video, component etc.). Better quality picture, better support, less CPU used; better all-round. Unfortunately there aren't too many hybrid tuners with hardware encoders out there (if any), so I guess a compromise may be required.

Right, that narrows things down significantly - I think you have a "rogue" video compressor/encoder on your system. We're making progress (although you wouldn't see it without looking at the logs)! :)

Can you please do the following:
    1. Download and run GraphStudio (no installation required).
    2. Click [in the top menu] "graph"->"insert filter...".
    3. In the first field in the top left corner, select the "video compressors" category.
    4. Stretch the popup down so that you can see the whole list without a scroll bar.
    5. Take a screenshot and post it here.

There is also another new build attached. Hopefully this build should actually work. Thank you once again for taking the time to help me track down this issue. :D

    Scanning has begun successfully :D

    That DLL did the job.
    :D

Edit: Media Portal now crashes when trying to display a TV stream (I think it was working with digital before). Logs attached.

    Hi again Magilla

Was just following up on a few threads and I noticed your edit. :(
Are you still struggling with this? If so, can you delete your logs, reproduce the problem, and then post the clean logs here for me to take a look at.

    Thanks :)

Yeah, man - it's still not working.

I thought that debug mode gives you all clean logs each time? Interesting. How do I delete the debug-mode logs?

    Sorry to hear that.
To delete logs, just delete all the files in C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log and C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\log. Parts of those paths are hidden, so you'll either have to paste the path into the windows explorer "address" bar, or follow the instructions here.

    What exactly isn't working?
    - did scanning pick up channels
    - can you view analog channels
    - can you view digital channels
