While I had some problem with tuning my analog tv, I installed windvr3. Now I can see analog tv, but 1-2 frame every second.

I think this comes from a analog tv signal -> mpeg2 codification (through windvr3) -> mediaportal. And I think it could be useful if I have to record analog tv (or pause it).

I know I have a Celeron 2.0 ghz processor, while mediaportal team suggest a 2.8 mhz processor. But could it be possible to skip the mpeg2 coding having analog tv even on older processor (leaving the coding only for recording)? I can see analog tv with winamp, so I think it's not an hard job.

    For everything else, MediaPortal rules!

    Thank you

    F.

    Hi,

    sorry no. :(

MP will not support software encoding cards without MPEG2.

This has been discussed often before. MP did support those cards in earlier days, but there were to many problems. We just want to have an easy TV with nice recording and especially timeshift. This is only possible with MPEG2 by software, hardware or DVB.

    Hi,

also, sorry, just a no. I do not have experience with software MPEG2 encoders. I am using HW encoders. ;)

Only one which come in my mind is MJPEG, but I really do not know how this one performs.

You may ask this question in Software- or General-Support again. Hopefully you can find someone with more knowledge. Or make a step in IRC #mediaportal add efnet.
