Hello to everyone !
after a long time of thinking I finaly take the courage to build my first HTPC
my biggest reason for building the HTPC was that I would like to have all of my music on one device with quick access and easy handling
now, in this topic I would show you guys how far I come till today
the components I chose :
Case: origenAE S21T
Mainboard: ASUS P5E
CPU: Intel E6550
CPU Cooler: ichbinleise Frost Tower
RAM: 2GB
Power: Silverstone 300 Watt ( fanless )
Audio: X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCI
Graphics: Asus Geforce 8600 Silent ( fanless )
HDD: Samsung 750 GB
TV Card: ....comming soon !
the hole assembling went easier than I had expected the only thing that went wrong was that I had to remove one of the casefans on the bottom of the case because it blocked the SATA ports on the mainboard for the HDD drives
not very professionally, but it works ! I used some wire to keep the casefan in his new place
the rest of the hardware makes no trouble
in the beginning I was very afraid if I can get the touchscreen to work, but somehow I made it,it works perfect and looks excellent
so,that's what I have done so far, there are only some software problems ( I think ! ) that I have to fix and I plan to install a TV Card for HDTV
