Evening all.

I'm trying to set up the remote for a htpc i've built a mate. Its one of the latest black Fusion cases that comes with a Veris RM200 remote.

I don't like the RM200 remote mainly due to the joystick style knob and the way you need to press the keyboard/mouse button to get it working properly, i'm setting up a Harmony One remote and i find the standard MCE remote to be a lot better.

This is where my problem lies. On the imon setup i get 3 options for which remote to choose, RM100, RM200 & MCE remote. When i choose MCE remote it will sometimes work momentarily but only the direction buttons and enter even tho i have the other buttons mapped for mediaportal.

Does anyone have any pointers how i can get the MCE remote working? (y)

Damn, I think I gotto add this link to my canned replies :D
    https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/...7/generic-keyboard-remote-input-plugin-25755/

    In short:
    1. iMon: Create wanted keyboard shortcuts in iMon for MediaPortal (there is a predefined setup @ forums somewhere)
    2. Plugin: Set up the plugin w/"keyboard" (copy keyboard.xml)
    3. Plugin: Map keyboardshortcuts given in iMon to wanted action.

If I find time, I'll see if I'll write a short guide for this (please - somebody beat me to it....:D I don't even have an iMon).

Hm... that might be unclear ... 2. try:
iMon: Map your remote keys to keyboard keys
Plugin: Map keyboardkeys to wanted MP behaviour (I recommend to use the keyboard.xml for MCE remote).

Some remote buttons can not be assigned in iMon, like [back]/[<-]. Use the your actual keyboard to define this in the plugin (I think it's [ESC], but have a look in config -> keyboard mapping).

    Generic Keyboard/Remote Input Plugin

I do wonder if it would be out of the question for the developers to include this particular plugin with the Mediaportal Installer release - as you point out, it does seem to come up a lot....

I second that, it took me months to work out this problem.. There are still a few outstanding issues with Generic Input Plugin, but considering the benefits, it is so worth it..
