    Hello Community,

Right now I am eagerly awaiting the arrival of my new htpc components (https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-62/planning-new-htpc-98466/index2.html#post790878) which includes the Antec Fusion Remote v2 case.

What do I need to do in order to get the best functionality from the remote and the LCD? I have seen several things in the forums, but no "simple" explanation for the case. I am planning to document the whole build, so if I need to stumble on issues, I will, but maybe some people can save me some time?

    :D

I eventually gve up on the remote that came with my Antec Fusion. The remote was a RM200 model. It wasn't that the remote 'bad', it was the navigation knob on it was soooo sensitive it made controlling MP very difficult. I gave up with it and bought a MCE Remote instead. It just works far, far better.

I think that there is a compatibility issue at present between MP2 and the drivers in the minidisplay plugin that run the LCD & there have been issues with the iMon software that ships with the case. I currently have the LCD turned off, but will get around to looking at it again and will re-read the thread about it. You can read the detail and current state of the display >>>here<<< I'm possibly a bit out of date with it though.....

    HTH,

I will have a choice of remote, as I also bought the WinTV DVR 2200 which comes with an MCE Remote. Do you use the built-in IR receiver for your MCE Remote? Do you use the receivers ability to turn on the PC just as the power button on the case (with the MCE)?

You should be able to configure iMON to be used with an MCE remote, yes. Be sure to use the latest version of iMON (and not just the one that is shipped with the case). Functionality should be the same with the MCE.

AW: Antec Fusion Remote v2 case

    Hi mbuzina,
as you see, i use the same case. My configuration is like following:
    -iMon manager V.7.77
-Logitech Harmony 555 configured as iMon RM200
-I use the internal minidisplay plugin

Some things depend on your case. The Antec case comes with different display types. My case have an LC-Display, but there are also some cases with a VF-Display. My experience with iMon is, that a configuration with an MCE remote and using the LCD is not possible. So if you want to use the display, you have to use the iMon remote or like me a Logitech Harmony, which is able to program as RM200 profile. With the Logitech remote you will get the next issue, because the internal receiver detect some button presses twice. But you can overcome this by learning these buttons in binary format from the original RM200 in the Logitech software.

netexplorer: but with the Harmony, there are issues with the execution of the commands, that iMON is detecting from the Harmony remote, when configured as a RM100/200 instead as an MCE Remote. For instance, if you press Ok for a too short or a too long time, iMON will often infinitely repeat that command. Or do you not have that problem?

I had problems trying to get the iMon receiver to work well with MCE remote, some key presses worked and others didn't - even though the iMon software allows for the use of an MCE remote. Eventually, I just used the USB IR receiver that came with the MCE remote and had to cover the iMon IR receiver (located to right side of display) with very small piece of black electrical tape to prevent a double signal being received.

The MCE remote had a better WAF than the RM200 that came with the case.

Hmmm, I will have some "twiddeling" to do here ;)

I will try to embark on the mission to get the LCD (the VFD is not available anymore) working as well as both remotes. It may be a bit Don Quichote like, but let those windmills come...

As i wrote before, you can learn this command in Logitech software from the original remote. But you have to use the "Binary" mode for learning. After that, i haven't problems anymore.

The only way to get MCE remote and display working is maybe to use the "iMON VFD MiniDisplay driver for MediaPortal 1.1.3". But i haven't tried so far.
