I use this case
http://www.antec.com/us/productDetails.php?ProdID=15138

Independent laboratory testing proves that Sonata is three times quieter than a comparable high-performance mid-tower case. How quiet? Just 20.4 dBA. Which means Sonata is literally quieter than a whisper

and it looks nice too, with piano black polished paint

it costs around 100 euro's

Do you find the PSU quiet as well? I have the 'big brother' Antec 3700BQE. Nice tower, but not quiet at all, even if it is 'Black Quiet Edition'.

Even with only one HD, the PSU ramps up.

psu is really quiet

no probs at all

the only noise I here is the noise from my GPU fan (radeon 9100 128Mb)
So I unplugged the fan from my gpu and no noise, still good performance

Antec Sonata Case
Maxtor 20 Gig HDD
Seagate 80 Gig HDD
Atapi DVD-rom 16x
radeon 9100 128Mb (without cooling)
AMD 1800 XP with boxed cooling (the only noise left in mij config)
Asus A7V333 Mobo
512 DDR kingston
Soundblaster live 5.1

Windows XP pro SP2

nice case and quiet too i see.

why don't you give that processor another cooler?
i use an 1800+ too, but with this cooler: Arctic Copper Silent 2 TC
http://www.arctic-cooling.com/cpu2.php?idx=15&disc=

really quiet

2 weeks ago i bought myself a case from Arctic, a Silentium T2 for a new workstation

http://www.arctic-cooling.com/pc_case2.php?idx=12

and its really silent too

now the case is filled with noisy stuff, like an asus a8n sli deluxe with a very noisy cooler on the nforce chipset, but i am going to change it with a zalmancooler i think and the graphic card makes to much noise.
but as this is only a workstation, noise is not such a big problem.
but,
i think i gonna buy another one to put my media portal based pvr in too.

right on bro !

I love my Athlon XP 1800
Have the damn thing from the beginning and it never dropped on me.
Ill follow your tip about the cooler.... looks nice and low noise

Also have a P4 3.0 HT, 1024 DDR and it is not much faster on the things I do compared with the things I do on my AMD XP1800 512 DDR

But what do you think about my videocard? I ripped out the fan and left the aluminum plate as the only cooling on a radeon 9100 128Mb
I thought it would burn up or something like that.

hmm, don't know
can you measure the temp of it?

does it allready run for a long time without the cooler?
then its not a prob, i guess

i use an fx 5200 from creative, original delivered without a cooler for the pvr.
