is this a socket 939 mainboard? just googled that.
so its a pane to upgrade the cpu. right now im trying to get a X2 for socket 939, and they are expensive and rare (at least the big ones, 4200 and up)
Yes it is a socket 939. I have this board over 3 years know and i like it. Runs fast and rock-stable!
I bought an dualcore2 duo yesterday for my desktop, so i can use the 939 board for my htpc.
finally i have nearly finished setting up my HTPC (for Components used view my systemsettings).
There are a few things missing, but they are minor parts.
I want to buy a 5:1 setup. At the moment i have simple stereo.
So,...
the Orgien AE S16V case came in a very big box, was very well packet. The Case had a bunch of Extrasattached, lots of screws, batteries, cables, very good, colored guide (!), Remote, and so on.
The case has excellent quality, very well manufactured.
I started to assembly all component in the case. First the Mainboard. A little bit difficult to fit in, but no such prob.
The only probs with the case was my PSU (lots of cables - very very tight fit...) and the CD ROM. That was a mess to fit it in properly.
But after that was finished, everything els went like a dream.
Installing XP Pro - easy, no probs.
Installing all drivers, Antivir, Firewall, etc.. - minor problems, mainly with the Gigabyte Raid driver...
Installing and configuring Mediaportal - NO prob. Everything works like a charm
Configuring TV and WebEPG - after i read a lot in the forums here, and i understood how everything works . no probs, works like a charm!
So after all, im very satisfied with my htpc. Thanks all guys here at Mediaportal. You do an outstanding job!!!
good to hear it's going well - can you post some photos for us to take a look? Wish I was getting on as well - I am almost done fitting everything in - space is not the issue, but internal cable management is a pain..
