Hi all,

i have tried many different dvb-s cards but none of them work correct.

1. Pinnacle PCTV Dual DVB-s Pro (ERROR: NO AUDIO/VIDIO ...)
2. Technotrend S-1500 (ERROR: doesn't find all my TV-channels)
3. Technisat SkyStar 2 TV (ERROR: find NO TV-channel [Level:100%] [Qulity:29%]) // general Problem!

I have also a hauppauge nexus FF-card but there are of course no BDA-drivers available!

All of my cards work without any problems with dvbProg or the orig. software.
Also mythTV has no problems with these cards! So why is it not possible to get them running with MP??!!

Thx, but before I will buy some of these cards I have to be sure that everything works perfect.

1. does it support diseqc correctly (I have 2 quad-LNB's with a multiswitch on Astra and Hotbird)
2. How many of these cards can I use on 1 PC?
3. Until now I had no chance to see if the TV-Engine has any stuttering over LAN. I need 3-4 clients on one server. Will it work good?

I tried the 4.4.1 RC2 BDA drivers.
meanwhile I was able to get a picture but it is stuttering all the time!

I have posted my stuttering problem in a different thread.

I didn't have very good luck with the BDA drivers (had scanning issues) but using the WDM drivers it works great. Stuttering is most likely attributed to codec issues.

maybe I am to stupid, but when I install the WDM-drivers I only see a network-adapter which gets not recognized by TVEngine.???

I'm sure that I do something wrong!

I have no idea what else I can try :-(

I have changed the OS (XP, MCE, VISTA)
I have changed the PC (2 totaly different PC's)
I have tried the 3 different TV-cards

Let me recapitulate my results. (are the same on both computers)
(BDA-Drivers:)
1. TT-S1500:
- under XP (100% Signal, 80% Quality, finds just a few channels (400))
- under MCE (100% Signal, 0% Quality, finds NO channel)
- under vista (100% Signal, 80% Quality, finds just very few channels(50))

2. Technisat:
- under XP (finds nearly all channels after seesaw changes, but has ONLY 29% quality by 100%signal)
- under MCE (same)
- under vista (finds no channel) / also with WDM

3. Pinnacle (cheapest card - best result)
- under XP (finds all channels, but seems to have some problems with diseqc)
- under MCE (not supported!)
- under vista (not jet tested)

Under XP and MCE I had additional problems with the streaming to my client (stuttering all the time)!
After all under Vista there is no stuttering!

Ok, now I'm on MCE and I am using the WDM-drivers.

There is tool that shows me my signal quality and strength. It sais that I have only 70% quality and 30% strength!!!
I realy do not understand this! With my linux-mythTV I had with the same card much a better signal!

What can this be??? At the moment I have connected the PC with just 4 meters distance to the Technisat Gigaswitch (2x quad LNB's, 8 connectors). Normaly I have around 30meters distance and I never had problems!

Is there someone who can help me???

MTS, the trick on the WDM drivers for the SS2 is to be sure and install the entire software package and not just the drivers like most of us normally would. You have to have the program Server4PC installed that comes in the driver download. It doesn't need to be running but it does something upon installation that also allows TVE3 to detect it correctly.

Also, seeing it as a network adapter is normal. Hope this all helps.

Is there such a tool for Technotrend S1500 too?
