I have bounced from Mediaportal to GBPVR and even tried MyTheatre. I would prefer to use mediaportal even though it lacks a DVD ripping capabilities(there is a plugin but I havent managed to get it to work) as it has a great interface and a good look. It is also very configurable, however I have as yet not managed to get a decent image. I am connecting to my Widescreen LCD with an HDMI cable. I have always had weird flickerings on the screen no matter what codecs etc I use. I have played with virtually all combinations of decoders and renderers etc and still had no luck. The reason for my title is that I recently installed MyTheatre just to have a look and the video and live tv were perfect. It appears from the configuration pages that it was using cyberlink decoder and VR7 and intervideo Noncss audio so I put that exact combination into Mediaportal and still got no change at all. I have tried them all, FFDshow post processing, followed numerous guides etc and even though I am dissapointed at the huge lag when changing channels which is a known bug, I would still prefer to use Mediaportal. So I was wondering if anyone could help me get a better live tv image. Before anyone suggest I change to the catalyst 7.2 driver, I have done that before with no success. The ati drivers are also a mongrel to uninstall. Any suggestions or is there and logs or anything I can post so someone can have a look and maybe spot something out of the ordinary? Mostly the issue seems to be flickering and stuttering of the image. Thanks [/QUOTE]
