Hello

Is there any Media Portal User who tested Project Remoulade ( DivX H.264 Decoder ) ?

They are declaring that codec is much better than CoreAVC and ffdshow and it's free

can we set MP to use this codec as H.264 decoder ?

The last tests MP-Team saw on this, both CoreAVC and FFDShow wiped the floor with the Divx version, especially on fps and errors.

That's not quite true, Beta 2 is significantly faster than FFDShow, and very close to CoreAVC on all the systems I've tested and read about. But its still beta, and for a reason (incompatibility with certain software and infrequent crashes).

your right it beats FFDShow, not CoreAVC, pity it does have issues with amd cpu's though still worth a try for users.

It's a shame it's a pure software decoder. Anyone know if there are plans to include GPU support in Remoulade? GPU support has been on the list for CoreAVC forever and has yet to be implemented. I wish there were more options for HA than just Cyberlink (buggy) and MPC Video Decoder (great, but would like to compare with others).

Let me "reopen" this thread. Did anyone tried the latest version within mp and windows 7?

I did and was not able to make the mkv splitter work correctly (audio stutters heavily). The splitter also does not support audio track selection inside mediaportal. I have found no difference from ffdshow built in xvid decoder for xvid.

I've installed both. First the divx mkvsplitter (it is possible to install only the splitter not the codec, I use CoreAVC Cuda ) then the haali media splitter.
The advantage of this kombination is, with only the haali media splitter i'am not able to play all onlinevideos. with both splitters installed it's works fine and i can switch between movie languages in mediaportal.
