Even more impressive is they're now displaying the packet count both good and bad on that Tuning Details GUI so there's NO MISTAKE if you'd had a dropout due to poor reception: the Bad count is no longer 0

You will find the anount of signal information, exactly how it's scaled and just how sensitive it is will vary between tuners. I'm currently troubleshooting my setup 'cause my NBC affiliate gets 100% on my AVerMedia Duet (both tuners) yet has a multitude of dropouts (all reflected in the signal meters) on my Hauppauge 1600 and ATi HDTV-Wonder. I've changed out the RG6QS feeding them, tested using a single OTA feed and have not identified the culprit --> strong on AVerMedia, weak on others. But that's my story - I just wanted you to know the tuners & drivers are somewhat relative, not absolute... YMMV

Quite possibly. Try starting in debug mode (link in the MP folder in your start menu) to force the default skin to be used and then see if you can see the link. The alternative is to use the manual control section in TV Server configuration to monitor the level (that is assuming that you don't need to monitor the level from inside MP).
