Are most skins only good for 1 resolution? What is a good non-widescreen skin? (1 Viewer)

For example, I couldn't get StreamedMP to work properly (fonts were too big in some places, words overlapped, etc. until I switched my resolution to 1280x720.

Is that the way most skins are built?

If that is the case, what is a good skin for a non-widescreen tv?

What's wrong with the Blue3? I guess this is one of the few updated 4:3 skins around....

Thanks for the recommendations guys.

It's not that there is anything wrong with a particular skin, it's just that I'm very new to MediaPortal and haven't really seen a reference or list of skins and their recommended resolutions. There might be one, I just haven't seen it.

The setup guide I followed recommended the StreamedMP skin, so that's what I went with, however it did not mention what resolution to run, and I didn't realize it made a difference so I spent a good bit of time figuring out why it didn't look right on my computer.

I'd like to try out a few different skins, but I'm not sure which ones will work on my widescreen tv, and which will work on my 4:3.

If you're not using all the functionality of something like StreamedMP, I'd highly recommend using Blue3 Retro (or Blue3wide Retro), with animations and sounds turned off.

Clean, fast, easy to navigate.

I'll give some of those a try. I'm going to spend a lot of time working on my MediaPortal set up this weekend.

If it matters, I'm currently using MovingPictures, TV-Series, the RSS Ticker, and the standard Music plugin. I may expand to tv recording functionality in the future.
