MediaPortal Version: 1.0.0.0 MediaPortal Skin: default Windows Version: XP Pro (fully updated) CPU Type: Intel P4 2.6 HDD: WD 80g IDE Memory: 1 gig DDR400 Motherboard: sony stock Video Card: SiS651 Video Card Driver: The one that came with the card Please be aware that I am not familiar with mediaportal, I have just started using it. I really like it. This is the newest version of Media Portal. My video share is on my main machines backup harddrive. I have shared it across the network, so my media pc has access to it. I mapped the drives and then pointed media portals video directory to it. I can see the ISO's and avi's and such. It refuses to play the ISO's at all, it does nothing. Whenever I click on the avi's, it locks up. WMP11 is installed and fully updated and the entire system is fully updated. Granted, the PC isn't the best, but it does work. It's a Sony PCV-RX850 with onboard video and sound. Next week I will be upgrading to a 9600pro with s-video out. A few questions. Do I need to install MediaPortals backend on my main machine? Is there a way for MediaPortal to use either Winamp or preferably, VLC media player as default? thanks for your time.
