The left right up and down buttons work ok, but all the extended buttons, like my tv, my music, my pictures etc, dont work anymore. anyone have a solution ????

Regards, Jinux...

If you're using the eHome driver (default) then you need to go into the button mappings section of the plugin configuration and click "Remove replacement driver mappings".

    Also, Turn debounce back on.

    Hope that helps,

Sorry, don't mean to hijack the thread but I thought since your issue was resolved it would be ok. I have a similar issue. Using IR Server with MP plugin and an MCE 2005 remote I get double presses from time to time. Not every press and not only the arrows. I have tried fiddling with the timing to try and get it in a way that is both responsive but without double presses but I can't. In theory I would have thought that higher amounts of initial delay would do the trick. But it seams that only the "Button held delays" has any impact on this problem. And of course setting that high enough to avoid doubles it ends up being too slow to navigate. In that case it won't allow you to press the buttons faster than the delay is set to. The best I can get is 500 initial and 150 held delay. This is fast and responsive and only leads to doubles every three of four presses.

Also I am using the replacement driver.

Hmm, I haven't seen this issue myself, but I'll look into it.

What parts (programs and plugins) of the IR Server Suite are you using?

Can you give me an IR Server log file from when this happens?

Are you using Translator and MP Control plugin at the same time? If so, do you have a program mapping for MediaPortal with "Ignore system-wide mappings" selected?

    Cheers,

I updated to the latest test version (2007-08-21) and did some testing. I am using the translator at the same time so I created a new program mapping for MP with "Ignore system-wide mappings" selected. Unfortunately that didn't make any difference to the problem (I did make sure the option was taking effect though).

So I decided to just run IR Server on its own to get a clean test. I have attached a clean log from startup with five up arrow presses and five down arrow presses. Both of the sets contained two double inputs so it was seven in each direction in MP. Looking at the log I see seven entries for each direction. So I guess that must help you understand where this might be going wrong. This was with 500 initial delay and 150 held delay.

Again, thanks for all your hard work!

Edit: During further testing it is clear that this is for all buttons, not just arrows. Also it seams that if I press the buttons on the remote really quickly there are much fewer double inputs. Perhaps this is a hardware issue?

hmmm, this is very strange. I'll try to figure out what is happening...

Is your receiver a Microsoft OEM one, or did it come with the PC or with a TV Card?

It's a Microsoft remote and receiver. It was probably meant to be bundled with something because they just came in a bubble wrap bag. I bought them online but not second hand.

Does it have a model number on the under side of the usb IR receiver box?

    Something like:

Remote control and receiver 1.0A for
    Media Center PC with Windows
    USB Compatible Model: 1040

That's the information from the back of my IR Device that I test with.

I might need to put together a test program that you can use to dump some data into a log file for me...
