Arrow keys dont work when playing a dvd. Any ideas why not ? (1 Viewer)

I cant navigate my DVDS. I can navigate Media portal just fine with the arrow keys.

But use them to navigate a DVD nope. I think it did work but now for soem reason its a no go

Its a MCE compatible Remote iam using. Big black one form DVico i got with my HD PC tuner card.

I just had this issue myself - DivX codecs caused this..

try gspot or graphedit to see which codecs are used for the files where you can't skip.

Either change the merits or de-install/de-register the codec which is used..

Now my dvds are not even playing at all

I think they are playing but i cant see them black screen. Tried all sorty sof codecs. Using Purevideo audio and videocodec. I thinks iyts the same problem as before to but worse, Its workign just cant see nothing



I have Divx 6.3 installed so i might dump that and see if it helps.

You need a de-CSS capable "commercial" codec to watch DVD.

Did you install a trial earlier (e.g. purevideo)?

I bought Purevideo. And whatever codec i use shows black screen

Are you using a SVN after mediaportal-svn-05-24-2006--13-30. My arrow keys stopped working to with later ones, so I went back to the above SVN.

Also just noticed I cant change aspect's with the "S" button, it's happend before might just need a reboot to fix it.

I'll try the latest SVN soon and do a bug template if it's still there.

If it was just while navigating the dvd menus with the arrows, MP has issues with this while using the purevideo stuff.
