Artist images (1 Viewer)

Hello,

Does anyone know of a program that searches the net for band/artist images.
Unless I'm doing something wrong, it seems tedious to manually insert an artist image into each folder so that mediaportal artist view doesn't show blank folder icons.

Just use the "playing now" screen often and it will add all missing artist / album covers.

Although carefull if you have artists with rude names. A search for the band 'Prolapse' on Yahoo Images does not return pretty images.

Indeed - I've used that to get all those nice 500x500 album art.

Do not forget to rescan your collection after that to build up "folder.jpg" from the new files

Sorry to bump an old thread, but I have a question on this.

I do not have a permanent internet connection (yip, there are still people with dialup). I would therefore like to manually add artist images. I already have a folder.jpg containing the album image. What should the filename be if I want an artist image as well?

One of the reasons I hope that this is possible, is that I would not have to redownload (over dialup) all artist images when the database is rebuilt.

These go to \Thumbs\Music\Artists\<Artist name>.jpg

And they won't get deleted when rebuilding the database..

Thank you. I will then also add this folder to the list of directories that are backed up (I am using Areca for backups).

Yes, currently only one can be used.
