I have an Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 card and I'm trying to get the BASS player working with ASIO.
I'm using the ASIO4ALL drivers, since the included C-Media drivers won't play with MP (just static noises and crackling).
Now, if I use the PureAudio plugin I do get perfect sound, which baffles me. If I turn it off and try to use the BASS player with ASIO directly I get no sound whatsoever. The Volume is set to 100 and the log file indicate no problem whatsowever (PureAudio turned off):

Since PureAudio works, that would indicate that the ASIO4ALL drivers works correctly.

Running 0.2.3.0 final (no SVNs) on Vista 32-bit.

Any ideas?

So the log shows that you're using the PureAudio plugin, which works for you. fine.
what does the log tell, if PureAudio is disabled?

The log above is with PureAudio turned off (which is the weird part, since it doens't show any errors whatsoever). It's like the volume is set to 0 or something.

And you really have only 2 ASIO Channels on that Card?
looks like that i get some information not correctly reported.

    Ok this is weird.

When you mentioned that about the 2 channels I went into the ASIO4ALL configuration and selected the output with 8 channels instead and now it's working!
The output with 2 channels does work with PureAudio though. The 2 channel output is obviously for music while the 8 one is for 7.1 audio, which the frequencies might hint about as well.

EDIT: But the 2 channels are 16bits only. Hmmm.... I think I confused myself.

EDIT 2: On a more general note, do you have any idea why the ASIO drivers that came with the card (C-Media drivers) would not work with BASS? I just get static noises if I try to use that.

Final edit: Ahaaaaaaaaa. Now I see what seems to be the problem. After I used the ASIO4ALL tool to switch to the 8 channel ASIO output, the regular BASS player started to work as well. Strangely enough, if I do a fresh install of Vista and install the soudcard drivers it defaults to the 2 channel output (and this can't be changed by any means, unless I use ASIO4ALL).
