Synopsis::

I can't get MediaPortal to find my TV Tuner. I went through the tutorial to manually enter my card in the capturecardefinitions.xml file. It was a little different then the instrutions, but I think I got it right. There was already an entry in the definitions for a Conexant Falcon II but the Moniker was different, so I duplicated the <capturecard> to the </capturecard> and edited the info. Nothing. Then I updated to the latest build. Still not finding my card. Someone please help. I spent alot of money and time on this system and I really love the Media Portal.

OK. I got it!!

Just in case anyone else is having problems, it was the actual card definitions xml file. It was filled with errors. There were single quotes (') all over the place and it was generating errors during the config. I noticed it in the error.log file. I just deleted everything except for the section for my card, and it worked.

Thanks JesseDidThis, your def worked great. My intial problem when I tried it though was that there was an extra space in the devid from the copy/paste. For other's reference, this was a stock HP Pavillion m7560n system with the ambiguous "TV Tuner" card that HP claims, which is actually an Asus p/n c1ve62 using the Conexant Falcon2 rev 1.05g chipset. Hopefully other people will benefit from this as well!

Has anyone been able to fix the issue with the Connexant Falcon II card? I have tried the above fix and it still isn't being detected.

Your capturecarddefinition.xml file may be corrupt. If you only have the Connexant Falcon II card in your computer, try this. Open your capturecarddefinitions.xml file and delete everything. Once it is cleared, put this in:
