Why is Mediaportal disabled? Is it because it is not complete yet?

It's the 'exclusive' folders at work - note that the MediaPortal folder is a sub-folder of the Context folder - only one of the sub-folders is enabled, all the others are disabled.

e.g. If you expand the 'Switch to mode: Power DVD' macro and right-click on the 'Enable exclusive: CyberLink PowerDVD' action and run 'Execute item' you should see the 'CyberLink PowerDVD' folder change to enabled (no cross), and the previously enabled folder will now be disabled (crossed).

Tony

Thanks for that, great stuff :D

Hi Radioman, can you tell me how long the batteries last in your remote? I'm currently using rechargeable batteries which work fine for a few minutes and then die (need to keep getting closer and closer to the receiver). Possibly the remote is duff or the batteries or the RW is just a power hungry slob :D

I had my remote lying on the shelf unused for several years! It still worked but I changed batterys anyway.

Now I have used it for about three weeks without problem. I'm 3 meters from HTPC RF recevier. It work on far longer distances though.
Try fresh alkalines. The recharable discharges even if you don't use them. Particulary when they are old. Nickel-Cadmium is worce then NiMh.

Thanks again, just got back from a holiday and now need to get back to my tinkering :) Bought a 16 pack of AAA alkaline (energizer) batteries so should be able to get started.

Radioman, any luck with your setup?

    Happy MP days

My setup is wonderfully accomplished to perfection. Not an eye is dry when my family see the splendid work I have made with the remote programming
Just joking ... As a matter of fact, they have hard times understanding my euphoria when I explain how well the remote works :(
It works and that is normal, isn't it, they say?

My first setup above worked OK until I made it a state of disorder. That was after watching Tonys setup, which looked and was ... advanced :D A tip here: Be careful with the function "Clear Pending Events" in EventGhost. Sometimes the macro doesn't catch up the actions you want to be done before they get cleared. Stay away from it until you see that you really need it.

Now I have reverted back and also put some macros for toggling the display with OSD info and also toggling the remote to be mouse or keyboard when I'm outside MP or PDVD.
The only annoyance I have now is that the plugin for PDVD doesn't have a working macro for FF and RW. It's not as easy as using the keyboard events. Press play doesn't automatically change the speed to 1X. I have to give it some more thought later on, if I get the time....
FF and RW does work in MP with DVD's, but not chapters inside MKV containers. It did work earlier, when i used the inbuilt remote in MP. Theres allways something to fiddle with isn't it ? :p

All in all my MediapPortal works pretty well now. Latest "eureca"was to figure out my TV was enable to play 24p and then having the MP change the refreshrate automatically when looking at the filmformat it plays. 24fps movies now flows really as they should :D

    Good evening folks // Ove

How wierd, while digging though the masses of computer junk I have at home at the moment, I came across the logitech media remote (see pic below)

    s510_remote1.jpg

TBH, I like the look of this remote, it has far lesser buttons and I find it very well laid out than the ATI Remote wonder. After some research apparently it comes with its own media centre software called MediaLife (I'm sure I'll find the install software somewhere ), however I was wondering if it is possible to get this to work with Mediaportal? Or perhaps with EventGhost?

How often does this happen  I found some more info on another thread in the forums https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/general-development-no-feature-request-here-48/logitech-s510-wireless-keyboard-mouse-remote-combo-48158/. Will try this and post back if it all works well for me :)

Have you found a plugin for it in EventGhost? If not, it won't work.

Ditch it and try to use the setup I just mailed you and adapt it to your needs . You have to learn the buttons on the ATI remote even if you are a bit retarded :D ;) "Adapt" or "Resistance is futile" old Borg proverbs

I'm also a bit slow but stubborn :p Thats a good thing.

    Cheers // Ove
