MediaPortal does not detect my card when i try to configure capture devices.. Is there any way to get it working? Im running Windows XP for now and I cant stand ATIs Catalyst Media Center.. If not, is there any other free media centers i can try?

Are you using the built-in TV engine or TV Server (TV3)? I recall reading somewhere that the server supports more cards. Maybe you can try it.

Not sure if your tuner qualifies, but you can also look at the following instructions.

    Good luck.

I have the 650 PCI internal card, and TV2 detects it without any problems. Perhaps the USB version uses a different "Identifier" and that could be your problem, there are some wiki pages and posts that deal with how to solve this by making sure that MediaPortal can accurately identify your card. Sorry I don’t have any experience on how to exactly help you, but I thought I would give you this hint to point you in the right direction.

Try WatchHDTV. The AVSforum has a long thread on it. It's a really simple solution to getting your tuner up and running AND it will provide you with the exact name the device goes by. The BDA driver name will present itself to you when you use the built-in "info" utility. It's this name that the CaptureCardDefinitions.xml file needs to identify your device for MediaPortal. OK... so there's some info it needs in the Windows Device Manager, too.

Say... that 650... is it ATSC, NTSC, or both?
