Hi all,

I have a working setup with a Hauppauge WinTV PVR 150. Now I found my old Pinnacle PCTV Rave and made it to set MP up to use this one as second card. I want to use the Pinnacle to hook up my external STB (which is unused so far). Everything works excepted the sound because the Pinnacle has no input for external sound.

There is no Sound Input free at the PC. The Hauppauge has an input for external sound (which I can successfully use when I connect the STB directly to the Hauppauge) ...

Now the question: can I use the picture from the Pinnacle (delivered from the STB by S-Video) and the sound from the Hauppauge (hooked up to the STB's sound output)?

I messed with the Audio mapping tab of the TV cards in the MP setup ... with no success ...

thanks+regards

The sound input on the PVR150 is probably only active when the video input is in-use... so you probably won't be able to get that to work.

Are their any CD / AUX audio inputs available inside the PC, on the sound card or motherboard?

There might be one of those small rectangular connectors that CD-ROM drives always used to be connected to ... You could probably create a stereo jack to rectangular connector adapter and use that?

EDIT: Here's the pins on one of those connectors explained: http://www.epanorama.net/documents/pc/cdrom_audio_wire.html

But while we're at it ... Why can't you run the STB entirely through the PVR 150?

    Cheers,
