A standalone creative XFi card and onboard realtek HD audio. My default devices in windows are: Creative for playback and midi and realtek for voice recording (MIC work). I connect the PC to the TV via HDMI and the audio to a AMP via optical SPDIF. I use to have Mediaportal configured specifically to use the Creative sound card. I've since changed this back to windows default. The reason being when I listened to music and then stopped the player and quit Mediaportal I could not hear any in game sounds whilst playing Valve games via steam. Rebooting cured this problem as did changing the MP config back to windows default. It appears that when MP is specifically set to the same audio device as is listed in Windows Audio Devices the program does not release the device proper. I couldn't find whether any one had posted this before and I know it's MP 1.1.0 but I thought I'd share my experience and hope some one can replicate it. Loving the whole product and the plugins. It's great to sit back and just flick through my media at leisure. BBloke [/QUOTE]
