Hello all,

I am new to the HTPC scene and am slowly but surely getting my head around everything involved (so much). Something I am needing further help on is audio passthrough.

Not in the sense that I don't know what the concept is, but more, how do you set it up?

For reference, I'll be using an AMD Fusion board that has onboard sound processing (obviously) with TOSLINK out, but I'd prefer my amp/receiver do the actual audio processing.

Does this involve a simple drop down menu sort of a solution or is there something more I need to know and become familiar with? Again, please note I have not had trouble doing this, I actually have not done it yet but will be and am looking for information before I have to.

Hope that makes sense.

    Hi newby! Welcome to MP!
Just install SAF codec package from this site, search on forum for "SAF 6.00".
Make sure your default out is the toslink SP/DIFF in Windows in the audio settings of config screen.

p.s. please read the wiki, a lot is answered there.

I had and didn't find it there. Not unlike me to skim over something and miss it. Thankyou. To the wiki I go!
