audio problem (1 Viewer)

i have a problem which i dont understand at all.
in my videos and also dvd the audio level of speech seems to differ from music and sounds. to explain this a little further the result is that sounds an d music will be loud and it is very hard to listen to the spoken words of the actors.
im using ac3 codec, but i have also tried others without improvement.
can anybody give me a clue on what can be done about such a problem...

Hello matis,

do you run a surround-sytem or only a stereo-system? Using 5.1 decoding with a stereo-system causes this "issue". Try to decode in stereo and speech / music should work in the right way.

thanks for your answer. as im running stereo, it may help. please tell me now where to define the decoding, inside ac3 codec, windows sound management or anywhere else...

start mp-setup and select DirectShowFilterControl. There you can configure the codec to your needs (Stereo, 5.1, 2 Speaker and so on).
