Hmmm, okay. Nothing stands out there.

    Two suggestions:
    1. Can you please also post a screenshot of the LAV audio codec settings. To see those settings, click on the little wrench/spanner and screw-driver next to the MPEG/AC3 audio codec.
    2. Try the MONOGRAM AAC Decoder codec for LATM AAC audio instead of LAV.

    here is the screen shot.
Also I made the change to MONOGRAM as you suggested and it works as long as Media Portal - Audio Renderer is still selected.
Not much time this morning to see if the audio issue has been eliminated by this change. I'll report back on this

The reason I asked you to check MONOGRAM was simply to see if it would work with the default DirectSound renderer (I wondered if LAV was causing problems).

This is really odd. I wonder if something is wrong somewhere in the Windows audio/sound configuration...

Funny you should ask. When I purcahsed the computer I didn't get any sound out of the box. I checked drivers and they are all inplace and working.
I think they forgot to put in an internal speaker. I don't think this applys here because I do get sound via the HDMI out to the TV. But I thought I would just bring it up anyway.
Also, there is a LAV program showing in add/remove programs listing. Should that be there? I'm thinking I may have screwed something up when I did the inital install.

just as an added note I watched some TV last night with the monogram still set and it was way worse than normal.
I have logs for that session if you think there is anything worth looking at.
And finally I opened the WinTV app to watch the rest of the game I was watching and as far as I can tell (I did doze off during the game) there was no audio issues. I will do more testing on that tonight
