AudioscrobblerBase: Handshake failed - not announcing current song, what does it mean (1 Viewer)

What does this message mean ?

I have 2 medaiporal Mediacenters, with 1 I can see the played songs almost instantly, the other takes awhile, sometimes days.

is there something 1 do wrong


music is in database and add to database is selected and I have internet and the last.fm profile work

I get the same errors since several month, MP don't submit song to lastfm !!

My lastfm account work fine, i could retrieve live data with mpconfig ....

Spaceyoyo might have restored a backup with an older music database or simply didn't enter their password correct. If the password contains special chars please try to find out which one fails and tell me. Change your password on last.fm's webpage and try again.

I've realized that their own player doesn't follow the docs. MediaPortal however was build as the specs require - this means that it won't try and retry again to submit songs when the server is unreachable (outage of a last.fm server or a dogy WLAN on your side, etc). Instead it will cache the files until the next "forced" submit.

I guess I will change this behaviour to a little more agressive solution soon.

If you're sure that last.fm's submission server can be reached again you can just restart MP for a forced submit (Please note that only 10 songs are allowed per submit). In spaceyoyo's case with 266 cached songs he has to either:
- restart MP for 27 times or
- listen to 30 more tracks
(while online and correctly setup) until the complete cache has been submitted.
