Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone in Australia has managed to get their Austar Digital remote control working with myblaster to then send a channel change to the STB?
The problem i am having is that myBlaster will not learn the correct codes from the Austar remote. It learns OK - but when I do a test it fails to change the channel.

I have an 'Atlas' Austar box and Media Center IR sender/receiver. IR sender works perfectly in Media Center - somehow they manage to get it to work.

Anyone got myblaster working - maybe I could grab someone's myblaster.dat file?

Me Too

Hey,

I have the same Austar STB & myblaster didn't work for it either. If I remember correctly it didn't even learn all the codes properly. Could you send me your configs & I'll have a play around with it.

Cheers,
Ben

Not sure if it would be the same as the Foxtel Digital remote but I couldnt learn them either. But Smirnoff supplied me with a .dat file that was the codes learnt perfectly (not sure where he got em).

Ben - check your email. I've sent the DAT file. I think the problem is something to do with the frequency or signal sent from the Austar remote. Media Center seems to be able to send the code without an issue - all we need to do is get the same codes into the myblaster dat file.

Anyone know how I can extract the codes that Media Center is setup to send? Are they in the registry or a file somewhere?

    Working

    Woo hoo ...

Got it to work at last! I had tried just about everything when I read somewhere about every second button press might be different.. so I tried to cover the transmitter whilst learning and uncover on second button press. Unfortunately it 'caught' the muffled press - but when I played that back it worked!

I had aimed the remote away from the sensor and into my shirt - but the reflection picked up actually ended up working to when I pressed 'test'! Go figure!

So then it took about 30 minutes of similarly obstructed 'learns' and I had all 10 numbers learnt. Just tested in Media Portal and it worked every time!

Dont know why - or what's happening - but who cares! BenZo - emailed you the DAT file - give it a go.

    You are a legend.

It wasn't your dat not passing the zero, I moved the IR transmitter about 1 cm away from the front panel & it works everytime now. Fantastic :)

Thanks a bunch for your time on this.

    Cheers,
    Ben
