Hi,

I've got a large number of DVDs filled with video files and I'd like to copy them over to my HTPC for use with Moving Pictures.

Is there a piece of software or a script that will copy a DVD's files to a folder on my hard drive, eject it and do the same when I put another one in (without any user interaction)?

I found one called "Auto Copy" but it doesn't work on my Windows 7 system.

Any ideas?

Cheers.

Had a look at MediaSlayer but it isn't quite what I need.

It'd be a really simple piece of software and surely someone on this forum must have needed this functionality before?
I'd program itself but it's been quite some time since I did java and pascal.. it'd make my brain hurt ;).

    A little Googling and: AutoCopy

PS: I see you tried that one already. If it doesn't work on Win7, then just adjust the compatability mode and run it as admin.

PS2: Since you have Windows 7, another thing you can do is create your own Trigger Event. Create one for finding data on the optical drive (meaning you inserted a disc with something on it) and launch a simple xcopy batch script. Then use a tool such as NirCmd @ http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/nircmd.html to eject the optical drive at the end of the batch script. You can also create your own AutoRun event to get the same result on XP/Vista.

Instead of xcopy, you can also use a tool such as: http://www.karenware.com/powertools/ptreplicator.asp

Autocopy doesn't work full-stop.. I installed it and tried the different compatability modes a couple of weeks ago and didn't have any luck at all.

I've never used Windows trigger events before. I'll give it a try.

    Cheers.
