Thanks Very Much :) :) Yes, I expect the issue you describe explains why this has been such a sticky problem for me. I will have a look at these xvids with the settings you suggest and get back to you with results.... Very kind of you to help. Thanks again Jim [edit] Ok so I tried the xvids. The DRRC goes to Cinema - Framerate: 24;23.976. Refreshrate: 24 When I play them, but they still stutter. When they play it looks like a big frame skip every 3 seconds or so. Its an annoying and enduring problem that Ive spent several months trying to remedy. So, I guess that means with this tv, there's no scope for fixing the problem with the refresh rate changer. Two questions: 1. Can I use something like Powerstrip to fix this problem? and, if not, 2. Is there a way to re-encode the files so that they dont skip on the TV? (and, if not, DOES ANYONE WANT TO BUY A SECOND HAND SAMSUNG 32" TV?) :) <grin>
