Many files which I added to my Music shares in MP weeks ago do not appear in the Music section of MP, when I try to find them by tag (e.g. by Album Artist), even though I have enabled automatic update from shares (see attached screenshots). I have double-checked the Music DB using the SQLite Browser, and they are simply not there. I haven't attached logs, as the import attempt (if any) would no longer be visible now. I do check the MP logs from time to time (in particular error.log) and haven't seen anything pertaining to the Music DB.

Did MP run, when you have copied the new files to the shares?

Is "E:" a local disc or some Network Share?

Usually MP is running when I am cataloguing, since I use a remote (RDP) session under a different login for management.
However, I can't swear that this is always the case. Sometimes I stop MP to reload configuration, and sometimes MP just crashes :-(.
If MP only sees chanes which take place while it's running, I guess I will have to run a rescan anyway, just to be sure.
I was hoping to avoid that, as my music (or more precisely, audio) collection is 1/2 TB.
E: is a local disk (huge partition on 1.5TB Samsung).
    Thanks for your help!

    Shouldn't be a problem.
Scanning only for updated files should be roughly 30 minutes max with a collection of this size on a local disk.

Of course you are right. I scanned only updated files since my last complete scan (last November) and it took less than half an hour.
Unfortunately, I already found 2 albums that were not included in the library.
I will upload them somewhere and PM you a link.
    Thanks for your support.

Finally had a chance to look at that.
For me they are found without any problems.
I've copied them into my existing share and ran an update. Found them perfectly.

Could you just change some things using the tag editor, so that they are marked as changed and rerun the import.
sending me the config log would help as well.

After adding the "part of a compilation" flag, they were found and added. I added a few more tracks last night, and I have found some of them in the Artist Tracks view. My Album view is now empty, but I will start another thread for that. Unless something like this happens again I will consider this closed.
    Thanks for your support!
