Well where do I start with my "experience" with TV tuner cards.... I ordered the A177 Avermedia card when I built my HTPC. The card doesn't come with BDA drivers so doesn't work with most software out there. I had a heap of issues with getting it to work in media portal and in the TV server and then I had issues with the TV card causing slow load times for other software (winamp when watching video files). I yanked that card and ordered a DNTV live dual hybrid from DigitalNow which was sold out and I had to wait over a month. When I finally got the DNTV live card I could only get one of the 2 on-board digital tuners working :growl: I spent 2 weeks trying to get it all working in Media Portal and other software with no sucess. I sent back the card with the beliefe that it was faulty and they sent out another card..... THAT WORKS :o I have had a number of other issues with blue screens, codecs and what not but the DNTV Live card was way easier (once I had a working one) to get going in media portal. I really would advise against the Avermedia card. It seems to be a hard one to get working but you may be lucky. BTW, I have both digital tuners, analogue tuner and FM radio working in Media Portal TV Server RC1 and now I know what I am doing, it only takes about 30 minutes to install MP and setup my cards. The support for the DNTV card was quick to respond, but not very helpful. When I had the faulty card they said things like "your signal isn't strong enough" or "you need to re-flash your bios" etc. The other thing is they don't ever seem to have enough stocks of these cards. They always seem sold out. They did swap the card out though and that only took 3 days through mail so that is a plus... Value for money though, the card is spot on for a dual hybrid card with FM radio.... Everything I need in a card AND you can even save a bob if you choose not to buy the software for the card which is great if you plan on using MP or similar.
