Hi, I just built my HTPC and installed MediaPortal and it works great. Only problem is, I can't figure out how to get my tuner card recognized. I have a AverTVHD Duet (AVerMedia MPD USA - PCTV tuner card - HDTV tuners - ClearQAM - TV Tuner Card - AVerTVHD Duet (White Box)), and from what I can tell, the drivers are BDA? It doesn't show up in the TV Server configuration, but I've gotten it working fine in Windows Media Center. Running Windows 7 RC btw.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get this working? Thank you!

ATM there is NO support for many Avermedia cards when running under Vista or Win7. The following cards are not recoginzed atm.

A180
M780 (just the analog tuner is detected, not the digital)
AverTVHD Duet

I hope these cards will be supported as alot of people are using them and its the only issue keeping me from finally not using Vista Media Center.

I'm in the same boat. I have two Aver cards, an A180 (works fine) and a new Duet. The Duet works intermittently. Has anyone had success getting it working full time? I tried overwriting the TVlibrary.dll as suggested in earlier posts, but that just brought down the whole TV portion of MP.

Duet update

I installed the beta version, V1.1, and it recognizes the Duet card every time. Those of you with the Aver cards can give it a shot.

update

A little research, and it looks like the card doesn't come out of power saving settings well. It doesn't "wake back up".

Here's the link to the forum where people were talking about it: AVerMedia AVerTVHD Duet A188 tuner, Dual ATSC or Clear QAM - The Green Button

Knowing what the issue is, and how to fix it (unplug, or remove/reinsert card) makes it a little better. I changed some power settings in my bios trying to keep the machine from entering some power saving modes (it only runs a few hours a day anyway).

It also seemed to make a difference how the system was shut down. Shutting down while recording: the worst. Shutting down all software and powering down: the best.

It's a slight inconvenience, but it's still a cheap dual tuner card that preforms well most of the time.

I still have been unable to get MediaPortal to recognize my Duet. I'm running a fresh install of Windows 7 and MediaPortal 1.1.0. I've disabled all the power saving settings as far as I can tell. Wait for RC1 and hope for the best?

It doesn't seem to be power related for me since I can see the Duet in the device manager, just not in the server setup. Did you do anything special on your initial setup for MediaPortal to recognize the card?

Nope, nothing special. Plugged it in and installed the drivers from the Aver site.

I'm RMAing my card to Aver, there's a one year warranty so they'll ship you a new version if you're experiencing problems. I had to pay outbound shipping, no big deal if the new card works. They setup the RMA no problem.

I don't have the new card back yet. I'll post results when it comes in.
