So as topic say, i get a very bad picture quality when using a ati x1xxx generation card, this i have mentioned in hmm well since i changed my htpc card from an old radeon 9550/9600 card to the later generation card in 3-4 posts, this problem *only* happens under MP and using a Ati x1xxx card, so am i the only one having ati among MP users, or am i doing something incredible stupid with my setups?(i thought i had quite a bit of computer xperience in both OS and HW side.)
I believe this occures only because MP is using vmr9.. because i cant seem to see the problem in overlay situations, and btw why dont take back overlay as an option, i mean and do correct me if i am wrong, doesn't Avivo features *only* work under overlay, like 10bits per channel( fixing as far as i can see, the old trick with vmr9 and ffdshow filter with range set to 16-235 to get real black etc)
And a description of my problem is (still) i get a 'ghost' effect on live tv(both digital and analog pal), this i believe is very difficult to capture with a still picture, but i believe a live video capture would show what i mean, i also notice if a take an example of a human face, it almost looks like its using a lower amound of colours and the dithering is not working(like in the old days, the old screens CBM amiga's 4096 different colours couldnt show a 24 bit picture correct without a good dithering) and this is also part of the 'ghost' effect i get when they pan the camera or person just moves around.
This has been tested on both my PC's using different Catalyst drivers, totally different Ati x1xxx series GFX cards different motherboard and crt vs LCD on different types of codec's(purevideo vs powerdvd used on both ati and nvidia)
This problem do *not* occur on the nVidia 6800gt card i have here somewhere
